2 years & up. An inviting tactile material that challenges children's sense of touch on both hands and feet. At the same time, it develops the ability to describe sense impressions verbally. The tactile discs, made of nice-to-touch synthetic rubber, contain different tactile structures, each with its own color. Each of the tactile structures can be found on a large disc for positioning on the floor, as well as on a small disc that the child will be able to hold in his/her hands. In terms of playing, the discs offer innumerable possibilities ranging from a fundamental sensing of the tactile structures to blindfold games based on memory and recognition. The Devereux Early Childhood Assessment Clinical Form (DECA-C) is designed to be used by early childhood mental health consultants and other mental health professionals with select children, ages 2 through 5, who are already showing significant behavioral concerns. The DECA-C is a 62-item scale that can be completed by either teachers or parents in about 15 minutes. The DECA-C contains all of the strength-based resilience items and scales found on the Devereux Early Childhood Assessment for Preschoolers, 2nd Edition (DECA-P2), but also assesses social and emotional concerns, including: aggression, attention problems, emotional control problems, and withdrawal/depression.

Help to improve parenting skills with this research-based and trauma-informed curriculum designed to build resilience in children and their families. It focuses on empowering parents to promote safe, trusting and healing environments - all key elements of a trauma-sensitive program. While this resilience-building parenting curriculum is designed for families with young children (infants, toddlers, preschoolers) many of the concepts apply to families with children of all ages. It shows parents how to use ordinary, everyday routines, activities and interactions as resilience-building opportunities. YJT is listed on the Parenting Curricula Review Databases for Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

Grades PreK & Up. Students learn through touch and the Sensory Literacy Kit gives you great resources for tactile literacy activities. The kit includes The Phonic Pebbles help children recognize and understand 44 phonemes through tactile engagement, reinforcing letter-sound relationships in a multisensory way. Also included is a set of Sight Word String Ups which combines fine motor development and sight word recognition with over 200 sight words! The Sight Word String Ups encourage children to physically string together words, promoting both hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity, which are essential for writing skills. Combining play-based learning with phonics and sight word recognition makes reading practice more enjoyable, increasing retention and motivation in young learners.
